Shawn Mendes y Justin Bieber, los dos artistas canadienses del momento, acaban de estrenar ‘Monster’, su single conjunto vía Island Records con su videoclip correspondiente. Es otro de los adelantos de «Wonder», el nuevo álbum del primero.
‘Monster’ está compuesto por Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Ashton Simmonds, Adam King Feeney, Daniel Caesar y Mustafa the Poet, contando en la producción con Frank Dukes. La dirección del vídeo musical ha sido por Colin Tilley, conocido autor de vídeos musicales. Tras los rumores sobre esta posible colaboración, desde el verano pasado que se vieron vídeos de los dos cantantes con Tori Kelly tocando un piano o con Hailey Baldwin en un estudio de grabación de Andrew Watt en Los Ángeles, el dueto se confirmó hace pocos días en sus redes sociales.
Los cantantes comentaron que su canción tiene que ver con aceptarse a sí mismos a pesar de las expectativas y juicios que los demás puedan tener sobre ellos, al ser considerados como celebridades musicales. “A medida que crecía me volví más partidario de que esta idea de perfección no es real y que solo tienes que rendirte, dejar ir y amarte a ti mismo” comentó Shawn Mendes. “Definitivamente es una circunstancia diferente crecer y tener a todos mirando cada movimiento y diciendo sobre algo eso, sobre tus relaciones, sobre todo. Puede ser difícil” añadió Justin Bieber por su parte.
Esta colaboración, como decíamos, es el nuevo adelanto de cara al lanzamiento del cuarto álbum de Shaw Mendes, «Wonder», previsto para el 4 de diciembre. Un disco coproducido junto a Kid Harpoon y Nate Mercereau del que ya se lanzó anteriormente el primer single, de igual título al disco ‘Wonder’, que no ha obtenido la respuesta esperada. El cantante estará además en «In Wonder Livestream Event», junto a Alicia Keys en el canal de YouTube de Netflix, el próximo 24 de noviembre.
Por su parte, Justin Bieber actualmente promociona su más reciente álbum “Changes” (2020) y varios singles, entre ellos ‘Holy’ (con Chance The Rapper), ‘Lonely’ (con Benny Blanco) y su colaboración en ‘Mood (Remix)’ con 24kGoldn e iann dior y J Balvin.
