El cantante, compositor y multinstrumentista británico Yungblud acaba de estrenar el videoclip de su nueva canción ‘Cotton Candy’, bajo el sello Interscope Records y que formará parte de «Weird!», su próximo álbum de estudio, a la venta el 13 de noviembre.
El video de ‘Cotton Candy’ fue grabado en Ucrania y dirigido por Tanu Muino. En el clip vemos como retrata la liberación sexual de la que habla en la canción con varias parejas besándose por todos lados, mientras que Yungblud interpreta la canción.
“Para mí, el sexo y la sexualidad tienen que ver con la libertad y la idea de que puedes perderte en otras personas de todos los géneros, de todas las formas y tamaños para encontrarte a ti mismo y descubrir quién eres realmente. La interacción sexual no debe avergonzarnos, debe celebrarse porque tener sexo seguro es difundir el amor y el mundo necesita el amor más que nunca en este momento. Esta canción es muy importante para mí porque veo y conecto con mis fans para enfrentar inseguridades en torno a la interacción sexual. Quiero hacerles saber que está bien ser EXACTAMENTE QUIENES SOMOS y que tenemos derecho a amar incondicionalmente a quienes queramos y ser amados a cambio”, comentó Yungblud sobre ‘Cotton Candy’.
Yungblud se ha expresado a través de su música como «un artista con conciencia social, sin miedo de mostrar canciones de protesta de género». Recientemente fue nominado en los MTV Europe Music Awards 2020 en las categorías Best New y Best Push , así mismo se ha confirmado que se presentará en vivo el próximo domingo 8 de noviembre de 2020 por MTV.
«Weird!» es su segundo disco de estudio, del que comenzó a dar detalles en abril, para luego estrenar singles como ‘Strawberry lipstick’ y ‘God Save Me, But Don’t Drown Me Out’ además de este actual ‘Cotton Candy’, y se lanzará el 13 de noviembre. También en este año ha colaborado con Denzel Curry en ‘Lemonade’ para el soundtrack del juego Madden NFL 21 y con la banda Bring Me the Horizon para ‘Obey’.
