El británico Sting, todo un artista clásico de la música pop-rock, presenta ‘Rushing water’, su nuevo single acompañado del correspondiente videoclip. Es el segundo anticipo de su próximo álbum de estudio, “The bridge”.
‘Rushing water’ ha sido compuesta por Sting contando a su vez con producción de Martin Kierszenbaum y Gavin Brown. El video musical en claroscuro ha sido dirigido por Eric Ryan Anderson. Su nuevo álbum “The bridge”, grabado durante el confinamiento y producido por Sting y Martin Kierszenbaum, tiene previsto su lanzamiento a finales de noviembre.
«La canción es mi adición a ese canon donde los tropos de síntomas metafóricos, diagnóstico y franca incapacidad son lo suficientemente familiares como para hacernos sonreír con tristeza a cada uno de nosotros» ha comentado Sting, añadiendo: «es un comienzo apropiado para un álbum que busca salvar todas las pequeñas diferencias que pueden separarnos«.
Sting es un cantante y compositor inglés (también actor ocasional) de estilo rock, jazz, reggae, clásica, new-age y worldbeat que comenzó su carrera dentro de la banda de rock new wave The Police, donde estuvo de 1977 a 1984, debutando posteriormente como solista en 1985 lanzado hasta ahora 15 albums. Ha vendido más de 100 millones de discos durante ambas etapas, ganado 17 premios Grammy’s y ha tenido numerosos singles destacados como ‘Englishman in New York’, ‘If You Love Somebody Set Them Free’, ‘Love Is the Seventh Wave’, ‘Russians”We’ll be together’, ‘Fragile’, ‘All this time’ u ‘All for love’.
Ha colaborado con artistas como Dire Straits, Craig David, Bryan Adams, Tina Turner, Shery Crow, Rod Stewart, Alison Krauss, Cheb Mami, Mary J. Blige, Herbie Hancock, Mylène Farmer, Eric Clapton, Julio Iglesias o Annie Lennox, entre otros, la mayoría de los cuales fueron recopilados en el disco “Duets” que lanzó a principios de este mismo año con alguna inédita como ‘September‘ con el italiano Zucchero. Su último álbum de estudio fue “44/876” (2018), a medias con el músico jamaicano Shaggy.
