La banda estadounidense OneRepublic presenta ‘West coast’, su nuevo single acompañado del correspondiente videoclip. Es el segundo adelanto, tras ‘Sunhisne¡, de su próximo trabajo discográfico, sin fecha aún de publicación.
‘West Coast‘ fue compuesta y producida por Brent Kutzle, Justin Tranter, John Nathaniel, Mattias Larsson, Noel Zancanella, Robin Fredriksson y Ryan Tedder, en una oda al estado estadounidense de California, evocando los sonidos clásicos de California de la década de los 60’s. En el video musical, dirigido por Tomás Whitmore, aparecen cantando y tocando frente a una croma verde que a medida que avanza la canción se transforma en costas californianas, caminos de montaña o el icónico puente Golden Gate de San Francisco.
«Estrenamos una de mis canciones favoritas que hemos hecho en mucho tiempo. Trabajé en esta canción de forma intermitente durante casi 5 años, pero nunca sentí que estaba terminada o del todo bien hasta hace unos meses. A veces tienes que vivir con cosas. Este es un VIBE: el verano, los chicos de la playa, mamás y papás, California… todo», comentó el vocalista del grupo sobre el tema que estará incluido en su sexto álbum de estudio.
OneRepublic se fundó como banda de pop rock y rock alternativo en 2002 en Colorado Springs (Colorado) y está formada actualmente por el cantante compositor y vocalista Ryan Tedder, los guitarristas Zach Filkins y Drew Brown, el bajista y chelista Brent Kutzle y el batería Eddie Fisher. La banda alcanzó el éxito comercial en Myspace como un artista sin un sello discográfico que los respaldara y ha destacado con éxitos como ‘Apolagize’,’All the Right Moves’, ‘Secrets’, ‘Good Life’, ‘Counting Stars’, ‘Rescue Me’ o ‘Wanted’. El año pasado publicaron “Human”, su quinto álbum, con singles como ‘Rescue me’, ‘Wanted’, ‘Lose Somebody’ (con Kygo), ‘Wild Life’ o ‘Run’, al que dieron continuidad recientemente con el directo “One night in Malibu”.
