The Weeknd presenta ‘Take my breath’, su nuevo single acompañado del correspondiente videoclip. Es el primer adelanto de su nuevo álbum de estudio, cuyo título se baraja será «The dawn is coming».
‘Take my breath’ es un tema de corte italo disco con sintetizadores y arreglos pop futuristas que viene producida por Max Martin, Oscar Holter y The Weeknd contando en la composición con Ahmad Balshe, más conocido como Belly (los mismos de ‘Blinding Lights’, ‘In Your Eyes’ y ‘Save Your Tears’, los mayores éxitos de su anterior disco)
El vídeo musical viene dirigido por RJ Sanchez y Pasqual Gutiérrez aka Cliqua (Rosalía, C. Tangana), que repiten tras haber colaborado en ‘Too late’ y ‘Save your tears’, con advertencia de epilepsia en las imágenes correspondientes y en las que vemos a Abel Tesfaye caminando delante de un impresionante amanecer antes de dirigirse a una fiesta al estilo pre-pandémico.
Tras la exitosa etapa de “After hours” (2020) y el reciente recopilatorio “The highlights” (2021), el artista canadiense comienza a avanzar un quinto álbum, del que pocos detalles se conocen ni su fecha de publicación. Será difícil superar el éxito mundial de ‘Blinding Lights’ (la canción más escuchada en Spotify durante el año pasado con más de 500 millones de reproducciones y sobre la que llegó a lanzar un remix con Rosalía además de otros remixes con Chromatics y Major Lazer). Como anteriores álbum a los comentados, se publicaron en la carrera de The Weeknd los albums «Kiss Land» (2013) “Beauty behind the madness” (2015) y “Starboy” (2016) además de los EPs “House of balloons” (2011) y “My dear melancholy” (2018).
