La banda de indie-rock Imagine Dragons presenta ‘Wrecked’, su nuevo sencillo que formará parte de su nuevo disco «Mercury – Act 1» previsto para el próximo otoño y que viene acompañado del correspondiente videoclip.
‘Wrecked’ ha sido compuesta por el vocalista Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon, Ben McKee y Daniel Platzman y producida por Imagine Dragons. El vídeo musical ha sido dirigido por Matt Eastin y es el tercer adelanto de su quinto disco, «Mercury – Act 1» a publicar a principios de septiembre, tras el doble single ‘Follow You / Cutthroat’ lanzado el pasado mes de marzo. Con la colaboración del productor Rick Rubin, se anuncia como «un álbum honesto que abandona las letras cargadas de metáforas, y en su lugar, abraza en extremo lo emocional sin guardarse nada».
En cuanto a este nuevo single, es un tema sobre el duelo, la pérdida y cómo seguir adelante (el vocalista la compuso la canción poco después de perder a su cuñada, Alisha Durtschi Reynolds, enferma de cáncer). «Ella era una luz cegadora. Un modelo de alegría y fuerza para todos los que conoció. Su repentino fallecimiento me ha conmocionado de manera que no soy capaz de expresar. Estaba con ella y con mi hermano cuando falleció y fue la primera vez en mi vida que he vivido la muerte de este modo. Me ha dejado impresa la fragilidad de la vida y la finitud de todas las cosas. He visto a mi hermano afrontar algo que nadie debería, pero también he visto como su fe le daba esperanzas en un futuro con ella. Solo puedo desear eso mismo», comentó Reynolds.
Imagine Dragons es un grupo estadounidense compuesto por Dan Reynolds (vocalista), Daniel Wayne Sermon (guitarrista), Ben McKee (bajista) y Daniel Platzman (baterista). La banda ganó reconocimiento mundial con el lanzamiento de su álbum debut “Night Visions” (2012) y el single ‘It’s Time’, seguido por ‘Radioactive’ o ‘Demons’. El éxito prosiguió con sus siguientes albums “Smoke + Mirrors” (2015), “Evolve”(2017) y “Origins” (2018), con singles destacados como ‘Believer’, ‘Thunder’ o ‘Natural’. A finales del 2019, tras una intensa gira, decidieron tomar un descanso para dedicarles más tiempo a sus familiares.
