El rapero estadounidense Lil Nas X presenta ‘Sun goes down’, su nuevo single acompañado del correspondiente videoclip tras el éxito mundial de ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’. Ambos temas estarán incluidos en su primer álbum que está previsto se publique este verano.
‘Sun goes down’ ha sido producida por Roy Lenzo, Omer Fedi y Take a Daytrip, en un medio tiempo en el que el artista recuerda momentos tristes de su adolescencia marcados por la soledad y la falta de autoestima que sentía en aquella época. La canción es la continuación del polémico éxito ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’, publicada el pasado mes de marzo y que ha sido #1 en EE.UU., U.K., Australia, Canadá, Francia y otros países.
En el vídeo musical, dirigido por el propio Lil Nas X bajo Psycho Films e incluyendo un cameo del propio padre de Nas (RL Stafford), el artista viaja a 2017 cuando era un adolescente en la escuela secundaria y luchaba por adaptarse, desde trabajar en Taco Bell hasta dirigir su página de fans de la cantante Nicki Minaj, entre otros momentos. “Mis influencias visuales siempre cambian, pero el surrealismo y el futurismo es algo recurrente siempre en las temáticas que abordo […] Para el vídeo de ‘Sun Goes Down’ mantuve ese tipo de sentimiento al mínimo, porque quería que se sintiera muy real. Pero todavía estoy en un estado meditativo, cuando voy a este mundo púrpura es como si mi futuro y mi pasado existieran en un solo lugar”, comenta Lil Nas X.
Lil Nas X, alías Montero Lamar Hill (su nombre real), es un rapero de Atlanta que saltó al estrellato en 2019 con su canción ‘Old Town Road’ (dos premios Grammy’s) y declararse abiertamente homosexual en las fiestas del Orgullo Gay de 2019 (algo muy raro en el mundo del rap). Desde entonces se ha prodigado poco, un EP donde colaboraban Cardi B, Billy Ray Cyrus y Travis Baker además de un sencillo con DaBaby, ‘Panini’ (2019), otro con Nas, ‘Rodeo’ (2019) y ‘Holiday’ (2020). Se espera con expectación el lanzamiento de «MONTERO», su primer álbum.
