La cantante estadounidense Katy Perry presenta ‘Electric’, su nueva canción dedicada a la saga de videojuegos Pokémon, que viene acompañado del siguiente videoclip. El tema estará incluido en un álbum con motivo del 25º aniversario de la popular franquicia de videojuegos que se publicará próximamente con más artistas.
‘Electric’ cuenta en la producción con The Monsters & Strangerz además de Jon Bellion y Bruce Weigner. «Pokémon 25: El Álbum» (disco homenaje a la saga nacida en 1996) incluirá un total de 14 canciones correspondientes a 11 artistas diferentes, entre ellos Post Malone o J Balvin.
El vídeo musical ha sido dirigido por Carlos López Estrada (realizador del film de Disney «Raya y el último dragon») y fue rodado en Hawaii. En él podemos ver a Katy Perry acompañada por una Pikachu con una letra que nos habla de la superación y alcanzar nuestros sueños, pudiendo ver también a una versión más joven de la cantante acompañada por Pichu (la preevolución de su Pikachu) y cómo ambas han ido creciendo juntas a lo largo de todo este tiempo.
»Cuando visité el Pokémon Café mientras estaba de gira por Japón, me sentí tan nostálgica. Me llevó de regreso a mis años de secundaria. Entonces, cuando recibí la llamada para ser parte de la celebración del 25 aniversario, estaba eufórica. Los temas de la canción (resiliencia, encender tu luz interior) han guiado mi vida y también son paralelos a la historia y los personajes de Pokémon. Pikachu es la forma evolucionada de Pichu, así que en el video, ves la versión más joven de mí con Pichu y yo en el presente con Pikachu. Ambos evolucionamos, pero conservamos un sentido de alegría», comenta Katy Perry en un comunicado.
Katy Perry saltó a la fama en 2008 con los singles ‘I Kissed a Girl’ y ‘Hot N Cold’ al que siguieron otros sencillos de éxito (‘California Gurls’, ‘Teenage Dream’, ‘Firework’, ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’ , ‘Roar’ o ‘Dark Horse’). También fue juez del programa de talentos estadounidense “American Idol”. En meses atrás fue noticia por el single ‘Cry About it later’ (con los artistas brasileños Luísa Sonza y Bruno Martini), el dueto ‘Resilient (Tiësto Remix, con la española Aitana) y el lanzamiento del EP “Cosmic Energy”. Por otro lado, próximamente estrena su propia residencia fija en Las Vegas (siguiendo así los pasos de otras grandes estrellas del pop) con el espectáculo “Waking Up In Vegas”.
