The Weeknd y Ariana Grande se unen de nuevo en el remix de ‘Save your tears’, su tercera colaboración común en sus respectivas carreras. El tema es el cuarto y último single lanzado hasta ahora del álbum “After hours” del artista canadiense.
La nueva versión de ‘Save your tears’ cuenta con producción de The Weeknd, Max Martin, DaHeala & Oscar Holter y con composición de Ariana Grande, Max Martin, Oscar Holter, DaHeala, Belly & The Weeknd. El nuevo vídeo musical ha sido dirigido por Jack Brown y producido por Blinkink. En él ambos protagonistas salen en una versión animada donde vemos al alter ego del cantante experimentado y creando una muñeca nueva a partir de piezas robótica en una especie de fábrica.
El pasado año 2020 marcó una etapa exitosa para The Weeknd al triunfar en las listas de reproducción con su cuarto álbum de estudio “After Hours”, cuya edición estándar llegó sin invitados especiales. A partir de ahí han salido nuevas versiones como ‘In your eyes’ (por un lado con Doja Cat y por otro con Kenny G)y también el éxito mundial ‘Blinding Lights’ (la canción más escuchada en Spotify durante el año pasado con más de 500 millones de reproducciones y sobre la que a principios del mes pasado lanzó un remix con Rosalía además de otros remixes con Chromatics y Major Lazer).
Esta sería su 3ª colaboración entre Ariana Grande y The Weeknd tras ‘Off the table’ (2020, dentro del álbum «Positions») y ‘Love me harder’ (2014, dentro del álbum «My everything»), ambos discos de larga duración de la cantante estadounidense.
