Blas Cantó presenta ‘I’ll stay’, la versión en inglés de ‘Voy a quedarme‘, la canción que representará a España en el Festival de Eurovisión 2021 después de ser elegida por la audiencia del programa “Destino Eurovisión” de RTVE emitido hace unas semanas.
‘I’ll stay’ es una producción (por Alberto Torres & Nacho Mur) más acústica e íntima que la original ‘Voy a quedarme’, en una balada romántica producida por Ricky Furiati con Blas Cantó, contando en la composición con Leroy Sánchez, Dangelo y Dan Hammond. El artista siempre tuvo en mente grabarla en inglés, “Me gustaría que la gente entendiera la letra en los mayores sitios posibles” expresó, añadiendo: “Vamos a llevar un poco la canción a donde nació. Es un poco más larga. Hay momentos que eliminamos y que ahora rescatamos para esta versión. Creo que es un buen momento para recordar cómo empezó todo”
Blas Cantó, que no pudo acudir con ‘Universo’ el pasado año debido a la crisis del Covid-19, representará a España este año de nuevo en la 65º edición del Festival de Eurovisión, el próximo 22 de mayo en Róterdam, pero con esta otra canción ya que las reglas no permiten repetir tema. La puesta en escena de ‘Voy a quedarme’ ha sido creada por Marvin Dietmann. Para asegurarse que este año si se celebrará y tras las dos semifinales tradicionales la misma semana, la organización ha ideado un plan de grabar la actuación previamente.
El murciano Blas Cantó es famoso por formar parte del grupo Auryn y más tarde ser el ganador de la 5ª edición del concurso de televisión español “Tu cara me suena”. En 2018 publicó su álbum debut en solitario, “Complicado”. Desde entonces, ha destacado recientemente también con colaboraciones como son ‘I Dare you (Te reto a amar)’ con Kelly Clarkson, ‘Mi luz’ con Pastora Soler o ‘Cúrame’ con Nia Correia.
