La cantante galesa de origen griego MARINA (anteriormente …and The Diamonds) presenta ‘Purge the poison’, su nuevo single que es el segundo adelanto de su quinto álbum y que viene acompañado del siguiente videoclip.
‘Purge the poison’ ha sido compuesta por Marina y producido por Jennifer Decliveo. El vídeo musical ha sido realizado por el equipo de Weird Life Films bajo el concepto original de Marina. En él se mezclan colores fluorescentes, sombras de ojos con colores vivos y brillantes, látex y cambios de cámara que recuerdan algunos de sus videoclips más icónicos.
En el tema de corte pop-punk habla de forma explícita sobre la situación del planeta, críticando a la sociedad actual e incluyendo referencias al Covid-19. Además, lanza una advertencia: “it’s your own decision (es tu decisión)”, haciendo ver que el cambio que necesita el mundo depende de cada persona y apunta que “el racismo y la misoginia” ya no están escondidos.
Este nuevo single llega tras el anterior, ‘Man´s World‘, publicado en noviembre del año pasado y ambos estarán incluidos en «Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land«, su nuevo álbum de estudio que llegará dos años después de su anterior producción («Love + Fair») y que tiene previsto su lanzamiento el próximo mes de junio. El disco estará formado por 10 nuevas canciones compuestas íntegramente por la propia cantante y producidas por James Flanigan (Dua Lipa, Carly Rae Jepsen, Hayley Kiyoko) y Jennifer Decilveo (Andra Day, Bat For Lashes, Hinds).
Marina Diamandis ha cumplido 10 años de carrera desde el lanzamiento de su debut “The Family Jewels” (2010). Después llegarían “Electra Heart” (2012) con sus exitosos singles ‘Primadonna’ y ‘How to Be a Heartbreaker’, “Froot” (2015) y “Love + Fear” (2019). El año pasado había lanzado la canción ‘About Love’ para la BSO de la secuela adolescente de Netflix, “To All The Boys. PS: I Still Love You”.
