La cantante estadounidense Demi Lovato y el artista australiano Sam Fischer presentan ‘What Other People Say’, su colaboración acompañada del siguiente vídeo. Es el primer single que publica la artista ex-chica Disney mientras que termina de preparar su nuevo álbum de estudio.
‘What other people say’ es una balada emotiva que ha sido compuesta por Sam Fischer y Demi Lovato junto a Geoff Warburton y Rykeyz, siendo este último el productor de la misma. En el vídeo con letra, dirigido por Ricky Allen, vemos que un chico y una chica juegan al mítico juego de «Quién es quién» y donde los personajes son los propios Demi y Sam en diferentes estados de ánimo y emociones.
En este dueto, ambos artistas hablan sobre no defraudar a la gente, desde dos perspectivas diferentes. Demi Lovato ha comentado: “Esta canción es un reflejo de lo que es perder quien realmente eres en un esfuerzo por complacer a otras personas y a la sociedad. Es por eso que quería hacer esta canción con Sam. Se trata de dos seres humanos que se unen para conectarse y encontrar soluciones a sus problemas. Y se e trata de no dejar de ser tú misma, en el esfuerzo de agradar a otros.», a lo que Sam Fischer añade: «‘What Other People Say’ es una confesión, darse cuenta de lo lejos que puedes llegar de quién eres en un esfuerzo para agradar. Se trata de las presiones de la sociedad y cómo atraparte en cosas equivocadas puede cambiarte”.
Sam Fischer empezó a escribir música a la edad de 12 años, formándose en el violín y el saxo. Tras mudarse a Los Ángeles (USA) en 2014 empezó a prestar sus dotes compositivas al servicio de destacados artistas como Ciara, Clean Bandit, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, Lennon Stella, Louis Tomlinson o Rihanna. Pero el éxito mundial le llegó con el tema ‘This city’, fenómeno viral de Tik Tok hace unos meses, consiguiendo 400 millones de streams y 2 millones en ventas.
Con un nuevo look, la ex-chica Disney Demi Lovato ha dado la bienvenida a este 2021 con este tema tras un año en el que lanzó, además de los singles ‘I Love Me’ y ‘Anyone’, temas como ‘Still have me’, ‘OK Not to Be OK’ (junto a Marshmello), ‘I’m Ready’ (con Sam Smith) y más recientemente el tema ‘Commander in chief’ (de apoyo político contra Trump). Hace unas semanas anunció el estreno de su documental más íntimo, «Dacing With The Devil», en el que hablará con transparencia acerca de su pasado de sobredosis de drogas y problemas mentales.
